LIBRARY - The library will be closed Monday 2/13 and Wednesday 2/15 all day to host the Palomar placement test. We plan to reopen for the after school program.

LISTEN UP RBV: The February 2012 “Respect the Ranch” Podcast is now available at the bottom of the RBV homepage. This month’s podcast celebrates the theme of “Caretaking”. Listen to an essay by math teacher Aaron Keeping about caretaking for his wife, a survey about how RBV students know when someone cares for them, a panel discussion with 4 RBV students who help care for a younger sibling with cerebral palsy or Downs Syndrome, and a reading of the children’s book “The Giving Tree” by RBV senior Mylo Johnson. SINGING VALENTINE GRAMS - On sale at lunch near the ASB office. Send someone special a song, some candy and a personal message for $3. Many songs to choose from. Grams will be delivered 1st period Friday and Monday. You must provide the recipients 1 period room number. Send anonymously or express your affection for a friend, staff member, boyfriend or girlfriend. Enjoy!

FCA – Be sure to come to the FCA meeting this Friday at Lunch in Room 349 for a day fun and games!

ART CLUB – Don’t miss Art Club’s Bohemian Bazaar, Wednesday thru Friday at Lunch in Room 343 and Thursday and Friday after school. We will be selling buttons, prints of student’s artwork and original One-of-a-Kind pieces. Come shop for your Valentine!

Science Olympiad Team photo this Thursday at lunch in room 126. Be prompt and wear your team shirts!!

ACADEMIC TEAM - Congratulations to the RBV Academic Team, with 2 out of 3 teams beating Carlsbad in our opening season match at Carlsbad!  Come to the RBV lecture hall this Thursday, Feb. 9 at 6:30pm to see RBV take on cross-town rivals VHS. 

THE NATURAL HIGH CLUB – Come join other students who want to enjoy life without the use of drugs or alcohol. WHAT IS YOUR NATURAL HIGH? Come every Thursday at Lunch in Room 112.

MILITARY CLUB - Military representatives will be answering questions/concerns students may have. Come Thursday February 9^th at Lunch in Room 701.

BOYS TENNIS – There is a mandatory tennis tryout meeting on Friday, February 10^th at Lunch in Room 702. We will be discussing the upcoming tennis tryouts on Tuesday February 21^st.

PEER COUNSELING – Peer Counselors are available for students to talk about personal, academic or any issues you may have. Appointments can be requested by referral in English classes and the Counseling office.

AVID – “Jeans for Teens” Please help teenagers in need and bring in your gently used jeans by February 10^th. Boxes will be place around campus, Mrs. Miller’s room, Mrs. Glennon’s room and Main Office.

INTERSHIP PROGRAM – All Juniors interested in a Senior Internship must turn in the application forms to Mr. Bennett’s office in counseling, by Friday, February 10^th.

ARMY ROTC & NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP – Attention Juniors! If you are interested in the Army ROTC or other national scholarships, sign up in the Career Center to attend a presentation by Major Richard Cotte on Thursday, February 23^rd in the Career Center at 10:00am.

2012 RBV LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP/AWARD APPLICATION – Attention all Seniors! The 2012 RBV Local Scholarship/Award Application is now available in the Career Center. Deadline is March 19^th, so hurry in!

RBV SWIM TEAM - Swim Team is having a preseason meeting on Thursday, February 9^th at Lunch on the Lecture Hall 239. Swim season starts at 9:00am on February 18^th at the Wave. Come to the meeting for more information!

PALOMAR PLACEMENT TEST DEADLINE – Attention Seniors! The last day to sign up for the Palomar Placement Test is this Friday, February 10^th. Sign-up in the Career Center with Mrs. Weethee.

PALOMAR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS – Seniors if you are planning to attend Palomar College this fall it is time to apply for your scholarships. Deadline is early this year, February 14^th. See Mrs. Weethee for details!

GEAR UP – Palomar College Scholarship Workshop will be held Thursday, February 9^th at 2:30-4:00pm in the Library Computer Lab.

GEAR UP – Get help with the FAFSA, we are having several support workshops in the Month of February, the next available dates are Thursday, February 16^th and 23^rd.
