California Scholarship Federation
CSF (California Scholarship Federation) is a club that promotes and recognizes high standards of scholarship, service and citizenship on the part of students in California schools.  We are a service oriented club where membership is based on grades from your previous semester.  We offer tutoring and sponsor an annual canned food drive. Students who are active members four of their last six semesters (including a semester in their senior year) become seal bearers of the class and graduate in white. Applications are due on September 10, 2012.

The CSF application must be placed in the “CSF” box in the front office by the end of the school day on the September 10, 2012.    No late applications will be accepted. Click here to read more on how to qualify and to print the 2012-13 CSF application.

Smart Start Program
Smart Start Program

RBV invites students and their parents to attend classes about safe teen driving, presented by the San Diego Sheriff Department.

The Start Smart Program is an opportunity for new drivers and their parents/guardians to clearly understand their responsibilities when a teen starts to drive. Taught by trained law enforcement personnel, it creates awareness of possible consequences, both financial and physical, of distracted or impaired driving, and provides applicable information about collision prevention.

Click here to read more about the San Diego Sheriff Department Smart Start Program and schedule of local meeting times.

Socail Host information

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is reminding teens and parents to be safe, smart and responsible this graduation season. Parents are urged to intervene to ensure that celebrations do not include alcohol to prevent needless injuries or loss of life. The Sheriff's Department is holding the following community forums to give parents the most up to date information about the legal, social and health-related consequences of serving alcohol to minors.

Remember, the legal drinking age is 21.
Know your responsibility as a social host.

Don't be a party to teenage drinking.
It's against the law.

RANCHO BUENA VISTA PARKING REGULATIONS 2012-2013

Permits must be displayed on the inside of the front window on the driver's side. Campus Security must install all parking permits.  Parking Permits cost $30 or $25 with an ASB stamp. |

Due to limited parking, RBV has established guidelines for the distribution of parking permits. Only Juniors & Seniors are initially eligible for parking permits through the first semester of the school year, after which, RBV Administration may open up parking spots for sophomore students based on availability.

To obtain a permit, students must return this sheet initialed and signed by both the student and a parent.  Students must present a driver's license, registration, valid insurance and a RBV ID card.  After Fall Registration, parking permits will be applied to vehicles by security.  One permit will be issued per student. If a car is sold or a windshield is replaced, the old permit must be removed and presented for a free replacement. Students may not transfer a parking sticker to another vehicle for any reason.  If a student moves his/ her sticker to another car, he/ she may lose parking privileges for the remainder of the school year.

Students needing to drive a different vehicle must see the Finance Office for a temporary permit and display it on the dashboard.  Students may purchase additional permits if various cars are driven to school frequently. ALL CARS PARKED IN THE STUDENT LOT MUST DISPLAY A PERMANENT OR TEMPORARY PARKING PERMIT REGISTERED TO THAT SPECIFIC VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES, OR THE VEHICLEMAY BE TICKETED.

Students purchasing permits after the first month of school will have to coordinate a time to have their sticker installed.  UNTIL THE STICKER IS INSTALLED, THE VEHICLE MAY NOT BE PARKED ON CAMPUS.

NOTE:  This is a REAL PARKING TICKET
(CA Vehicle Code Section 21113) - The bail will be indicated on the ticket, which will increase if not paid within 21 days.  The DMV can withhold renewal of your vehicle registration if you fail to pay the ticket. Payment is no longer made at the school.  All tickets are sent to an outside agency and must be paid through that agency only.  Please see back of ticket for payment information.   A violation of the following rules will result in a citation of $35 or more and will increase if not paid within 21 days. All tickets will be sent to an outside agency. Payment must be made directly to the agency.  Your DMV Registration may be delayed until the fees are paid.

Parking Regulations (violations result in citation)

No parking without a current parking permit displayed

No parking in the staff parking lot

No parking in a visitor parking space

No parking in numbered spaces, unless it is reserved for you

No parking in red zones, or posted "No Parking" areas

No parking on islands or in fire lanes ($80.00 fine)

No parking in or blocking Handicapped spaces ($325.00 fine)

No parking in any way that blocks traffic

Parking is only permitted in designated stalls
(stalls are outlined with white paint on both sides)

RBV Policies per The RBV Student Handbook

Cars are to be locked and should only be accessed to drive the Vehicle or quickly retrieve an item.  Loitering is prohibited and may result in a suspension of the parking permit.

Inappropriate behavior in the parking lot may result in suspension of the parking permit (examples: changing clothes, littering, loud music, unsafe driving)

RBV staff makes a reasonable effort to supervise and maintain the student parking lot with the resources available.  Ultimately, neither VUSD nor RBV are responsible for any auto damage, theft, or vandalism. Before receiving a parking permit, all students and a parent must sign a form that thats that they have read, understand, and will abide by the above-stated Rancho Buena Vista Parking Regulations. NOTE: Parking permits for the 2013-2014 school year require participation in Start Smart program, a program presented by the San Diego Sheriffs Department.

Saturday School Rules and Unexcused Tardy Policy
RBV Unexcused Tardy Policy
Students are to be in class, ready to begin when the final bell rings.  If a student enters the classroom after the bell rings, the student inevitably disrupts the learning of others.  Our new policy outlines the steps of disciplinary actions, intervention procedures, and corrective measures to ensure that all students benefit.

Saturday School At RBV
Saturday School is assigned to students for tardies, unexcused absences, and poor school or classroom behavior.  Because we believe that RBVHS is a place of learning, we try to make every moment on this campus enriching and that includes our Saturday School. We are now offering workshops in literacy, character building, and other teen issues to make Saturday School yet another time that instruction occurs on this campus.
