MAD- Make a Difference about Cancer

Description/Purpose:The organization has three focuses: spreading awareness about cancer prevention, helping cancer patients, and working toward finding a cure. This will be accomplished by helping out at hospitals, working with scientists that are trying to find a cure, spreading awareness through speeches and rallies, and raising money by getting grants and doing fundraisers.

The OMNI - aka The History Club
Meetings:Club-sponsored events are timed to fit topical/historical events and announced through the Daily Bulletin and all Social Studies classes.
Who Can Join:The club is open to anyone interested in promoting social studies and in activities and outings that fit current events and places of local historic interest.
Events:The club has already hosted a historic film night, a series of lunchtime debates with students taking on the roles of presidential and vice-presidential candidates, and an evening commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the newly inaugurated President Barack Obama. Future events include additional film nights and a weekend visit to one of the two Presidential Libraries located in Southern California.
